Leaving Certificate Applied
Not all students choose to follow the traditional Leaving Certificate Programme. The Leaving Certificate Applied offers an exciting and rewarding alternative for students who are not adequately catered for by other Leaving Certificate Programmes or who choose to opt for such programmes.
The Fundamental goal of this programme is to prepare senior students for the transition from the world of school to that of adult and working life. Personal and social development of participants is very important during LCA. A broud range of learning and assessment methodologies is used. Students receive their marks in a combination of three ways:
- Attendance and Class Participation
- Seven Key Tasks
- Final Exams
Work Experience is also an integral part of the course. LCA also provides a clear pathway to further education.
